Not real clear on the "rapid change" thing. If you meant you had a rapid increase in reflux overnight you might want to take a note on any dietary food changes. Have you eaten at a new fast food place (or delivery) ? Been putting extra hot sauce on the burrito....etc., etc.?
Other than suggesting an increase in dosage of the Protonix the only thing I can suggest is to look at a change of PPIs......like say, Prilosec.
