You know better than I do, so I am not trying to correct you or take issue, this is simply informational.....

I don't think the Endocinch procedure usually costs that much. I THINK what is going on is that you will need an endoscopy, a motility test, a ph monitoring test, and possibly the endocinch. I think when you add all of those up you might get close to the $8,000 range. I have read on numerous sites that the cost of the procedure is approx. $2000.00. Your Doctor should be able to get the other tests covered at least because they are common diagnostics, and could be for other purposes besides the Endocinch. People who work in medical offices usually know how to submit the paper work in order to get the insurance company to pay. The truth is that most people cannot afford to pay out of pocket for even the simplest procedures at this point and Doctors are dependent on insurance companies for $. So don't worry, maybe things will still work out. Or maybe I am completely wrong. Good Luck.

PS---

Off topic, but to anyone who thinks that "NAtional Healthcare" and things like that are the solution, talk to someone in Europe sometime. I lived in the UK for a couple of years and while the health care is free to citizens, you are completely at the mercy of the bean counters, it is even worse than dealing with insurance companies.
