I started burning after my first endo last year which finally lead to a fundo. I always thought it (the really bad stinging) came from something from the endo. Now the stinging is just like you say. My chest hurts also when the throat is at its worst. I don't know if it is acid or post nasal drip or what. The doc gave me the same lidocane mix you have. It only helps a little. I have been off and on it for a year. I was told it could not hurt me. They also give it at the ER and is know as a "green Lady" but also has donatol in it. Hope your pain is short lived. Lee
